University of Siena (UNISI)

The Evolutionary and Systematic Zoology group studies the evolution of insects, with a focus on springtails, insects of agricultural importance and the Antarctic fauna.

They apply molecular markers and sequence analysis tools to study relationships among populations, reconstruct colonization and invasion processes, identify species boundaries and reconstruct the time frame of evolutionary events.
